border_style=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following optometrist Ms Skoutari\u2019s participation in a recent radio programme, during which there were once again indications of the unlawful practice of medicine, the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Vitreoretinal Society wishes to inform you that it recently sent a letter to the Athens Medical Association requesting that the matter be referred to the competent authorities, concerning both this and other interviews she has given from time to time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unfortunately, Ms Skoutari has previously drawn the attention of the ophthalmological community through programmes addressing specialised topics such as the retina and retinal diseases. These programmes remain available on a relevant channel to this day. In them, she manifestly engages in the unlawful practice of medicine by offering advice on conditions for which she has neither the necessary training nor the legal authorisation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Scientific associations remain vigilant regarding matters affecting patients and the ophthalmological community in general. They take whatever action is required in each case, either independently or collaboratively, always with the same objective: to refer to the justice system those whose words or actions undermine scientific standards in ophthalmology and medical ethics as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;15px&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>FOREIGN SCHOLARSHIP<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;normal&#8221; border_style=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1248&#8243; img_size=&#8221;345&#215;160&#8243; qode_css_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;15px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"233\">The Board of Directors of the Hellenic Vitreoretinal Society announces a scholarship for the 2024\u20132025 academic year for postgraduate studies abroad in surgical retina (vitreoretinal surgery) and ocular oncology (choroid and retina).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"235\" data-end=\"371\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">One scholarship will be awarded to an ophthalmologist accepted by a centre abroad.
