PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN “LISTEN TO YOUR BODY”
Dear colleagues,
We would like to inform you about the public awareness campaign “Listen to Your Body,” organized by Novartis Hellas to inform patients suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, which we have decided to support as GVRS. This campaign aims to raise public awareness regarding the proper screening and monitoring of Diabetes Mellitus, as well as the correct guidance of patients through the primary healthcare system.
The program is structured as follows:
Patients suffering from diabetes mellitus who have not undergone ophthalmological examinations in the last 2 years are informed by the pharmacist about the necessity of these examinations.
The pharmacist attends educational seminars on the disease, organized by the Institute for Lifelong Education and Professional Development of Pharmacists (IDEEAF), under the auspices of the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association.
The pharmacist then gives them an invitation for a one-time free basic ophthalmological examination, which will include fundoscopy.
In addition, they are given, in a sealed envelope, the names of ophthalmologists from all over Greece whom they may visit and who have previously consented to participate in this program.
GVRS calls on both its members and non-members to participate in this campaign and provide one free basic ophthalmological examination, which will include fundoscopy, thus contributing to the timely and proper screening of diabetic retinopathy. Those of you who wish to participate may download the relevant consent form from the link below, complete the required fields, and send it to us at the email address info@gvrs.gr, either by scanning the certificate or by taking a photograph of it.
We urge you to support this campaign, which makes a decisive contribution to the creation of patient protection networks for those suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, while also highlighting the important contribution of the ophthalmologist within the primary healthcare system.
